Home / Lakh and crore spreadsheet
A spreadsheet that groups numbers the Indian way
Numbers show as 12,34,567 and not 1,234,567. A formula writes the amount in words for a cheque or an invoice. Your Excel files open and save.

- Sort, filter, data validation lists, conditional formatting
- Charts and a PivotTable summary
- Formulas across sheets, named ranges, frozen panes
Files
- Opens and saves .xlsx and imports and exports CSV
- Keeps formulas, number formats and column widths when it saves
- Print with page setup
Honest limits. Dynamic-array functions such as FILTER, SORT and UNIQUE are not available yet, and cells cannot be protected with a password.
Questions
Will my Excel formulas still work?
Almost all of the common ones do. Open the file and check any formula that shows an error before you rely on it.
How do I get lakh grouping?
Choose the lakh and crore format from the number format list. You can also type #,##,##0 as a custom format.
Can I make a marks sheet with ranks and grades?
Yes. SUM, RANK and IFS do it. There is a marksheet-style template to start from.
